The fine line between optimal travel time and suboptimal time travel

I know it’s a 16 hour drive from Texas to Ohio. I’ve been on it several times before, and every time it’s taken 16 hours. Nothing, short of changing our minds and getting on an airplane instead, will make it significantly less than a 16 hour drive. And yet, when I ask where we are less than 4 hours into the trip, I somehow expect an answer that won’t make me sad.

  1. Hang in there, Em, won’t be long now!! You must be over 1/2 way by now!. Crank up some good ol’ songs you and granny like to sing and belt them out at the top of your lungs. First thing you know you’ll be 3/4 of the way at least!!

I know moving is hard (believe me!) but it won’t be long until you are a regular Ohioan (?) and soon Texas will be a dim memory. Just don’t forget this is where your roots are.

Love you! Sounds like you and Granny did a really big and terrific job of packing up the rest of the stuff. Just don’t let that Hydra fill the back seat until you are at least into Kentucky!
